What the Guild needed were two identical elephant sculptures, as one was going to be “tossed” into a fire and then exchanged for a “singed” one in the background, as pictured below. Below that is the debut on stage.
This was Lise’s first elephant sculpture. Lise used a reference photo of a sculpture found on Amazon 🙂. It was a challenging project and very gratifying once it was completed. The body was first covered with masking tape and then coated with liquid Paverpol. The “saddle” was created using a T-shirt and lace dipped in Paverpol. Once dried, the piece was painted to achieve a “carved wood” effect.
